The World Collegiate Soccer Championship (WCSC) showcased the best of collegiate soccer talent from around the globe during 1984 – 1992.  After a hiatus of more than two decades, the timing is right to revive this stellar event that simultaneously promotes higher education, international understanding, and soccer.  With a permanent home base in San Antonio, Texas, the WCSC will become a signature annual event that soccer fans from around the globe won’t want to miss!

Timing of the re-launch couldn’t be better as the new championship would be staged during San Antonio Tricentennial.  As part of the City’s celebration in 2018, the World Collegiate Soccer Championship will be one of the Tricentennial’s sanctioned events.  Just a few days after the WCSC, the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s Final Four Championship is scheduled for the Alamo Dome March 31 – April 2.

For the 2018 WCSC, invitations will be extended to champions from the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division 1, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, and the university federations of Canada, Chile, Japan, Mexico, Switzerland, and Turkey.  Conditional invitations will be issued to Germany, Ireland, and Russia.
